As Senior Pharmacy Technician – Procurement at Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust (Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading RG1 5AN) you will lead on medicines procurement to keep supplies safe, timely and cost‑effective. The role involves managing medicines shortages, supporting procurement audits and cost‑improvement projects, liaising with suppliers, pharmacists and regional colleagues, and ensuring compliance with national and regional contracts and governance. This is a Band 5, permanent full‑time post with a salary of £31,049–£37,796 per annum, where your work directly supports patient care across a large acute trust.
This role is ideal for a GPhC‑registered Pharmacy Technician with NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) who is organised, detail‑focused and enjoys problem solving. You will be expected to be, or become within 12 months, an Accredited Checking Technician; a DBS check and current UK professional registration are required.
