Take a lead clinical role caring for children and young people with diabetes based at Hull Royal Infirmary (HU3 2JZ). As Senior Children’s Diabetes Specialist Nurse (Band 7, £47,810–£54,710 pa, permanent, full‑time) you will manage a mixed caseload from diagnosis through to discharge or transition to adult services, including Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, MODY and cystic fibrosis‑related diabetes. The post involves nurse‑led consultations, education and holistic clinical and social support for children and their families, working flexibly across hospital and community settings and as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will lead the children’s diabetes specialist nursing team, develop evidence‑based practice, participate in audit and service development, and work across regional networks with teaching and research links through the Humber Health Partnership and Hull University Teaching Hospitals.

This role suits an experienced Band 6+ paediatric nurse with RSCN/RN (child) and current NMC registration, children & young people’s diabetes qualification (or equivalent), teaching/assessing experience and evidence of ongoing CPD; non‑medical prescribing or willingness to train is desirable. You must be able to practise autonomously, co‑ordinate a caseload, understand safeguarding, and be prepared to work flexibly (full driving licence and car access required).
