Bring your dissection expertise to University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust in Coventry (CV2 2DX) as a Senior Biomedical Scientist, Dissector — with an alternative Trainee Dissection BMS option available. You’ll work across UHCW and South Warwick Hospital sites performing, allocating and supervising specialised diagnostic dissection of clinical and environmental tissue samples, following RCPath-category SOPs and strict quality procedures. The Senior post requires HCPC registration and the IBMS DEP in dissection (AFC Band 7); the Trainee role requires HCPC registration and Band 6 experience and support towards the DEP. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and prioritising team workloads, validating and technically authorising results, equipment oversight and troubleshooting, leading audits and QA schemes, preparing SOPs, deputising for the Specialist Scientific Lead and driving service improvements and new equipment installation.
