Step into a vital clinical role as an Anatomical Pathology Technician with Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, based at Whiston Hospital, Prescott L35 5DR. You’ll work across a HTA‑accredited mortuary service covering Whiston, Southport and Ormskirk, supporting Coronial and hospital post‑mortems and carrying out receipt, storage, preparation and dignified release of the deceased. The post involves direct, sensitive contact with bereaved families and multi‑agency liaison with coroners, police and funeral directors, as well as technical tasks such as surgical evisceration, reconstruction, tissue sampling, LIMS record keeping and maintaining high standards of infection control and COSHH compliance. The role is permanent, full time, Band 5 (£31,049–£37,796) and includes a mandatory on‑call rota (overtime paid); a Disclosure & Barring Service check is required and skilled worker sponsorship can be considered.
