Work as a Peer Worker at Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust supporting women and men on the adult mental health wards at Roseberry Park Hospital, Middlesbrough (TS4). Drawing on your own lived experience of mental health challenges and inpatient services, you will provide compassionate 1:1 support, co‑facilitate peer groups, attend team meetings to ensure service users’ voices are heard, and contribute practical ideas to service development. The role begins with Trust peer support training delivered by people with lived experience and includes regular 1:1 and group supervision, opportunities to build connections across local services, and a trauma‑informed approach that values authenticity, mutuality and empowerment. Shifts are currently Monday–Friday with occasional weekend work as needed; roles are available full‑time or part‑time and are permanent posts.

This Band 3 post pays £24,937–£26,598 pro rata and is open to people with personal experience of mental health services who have provided peer support in paid, voluntary or informal settings. Essential requirements include the Right to Work in the UK (the Trust cannot offer Skilled Worker visa sponsorship for this role) and a Disclosure and Barring Service check; relevant qualifications or a willingness to attain them within the required timescale are expected.
