Care for people at the most important time of their lives as a Healthcare Assistant with Marie Curie’s Hertfordshire community team. This permanent, part‑time night role (10:00pm–07:00am) is focused on person‑centred end‑of‑life care delivered in patients’ own homes across Herts Valley — covering Watford, St Albans, Hemel Hempstead, Tring, Potters Bar and surrounding towns. You’ll provide high-quality personal care and practical support: maintaining skin integrity and hygiene, supporting nutrition and comfort for rest and sleep, assisting with mobility, observing needs and contributing to safe, orderly care environments. The post is Agenda for Change Band 2, paid at £24,465 per annum (pro‑rata) with generous nighttime enhancements and a mileage allowance of 45p per mile; a valid driving licence and access to a car are required.

This role suits compassionate, resilient carers with recent experience in health or social care — preferably with NVQ Level 2 or equivalent — who are confident working independently and developing person‑centred care plans for people approaching the end of life. Marie Curie offers supportive training and professional development, a matched pension contribution (up to 7.5%), 27 days’ annual leave plus 8 bank holidays (pro‑rata), life assurance, the Blue Light Card and staff loan schemes for bikes, laptops and sat‑navs. The charity is committed to inclusion, safeguarding and a workplace where carers are supported; an enhanced DBS check is required.
