Become a Healthcare Science Support Worker with North Tees & Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust, based at University Hospital of North Tees (Stockton-on-Tees, TS19) and working across University Hospitals Tees sites. In this Band 2 role you will maintain and support point-of-care testing across hospital wards, community and primary care settings — working with equipment such as Roche Cobas b123 and Radiometer ABL90 blood gas analysers, AccuChek and Nova glucose meters, CoaguChek INR, V-Trust ketone meters and Hemocue Hb devices. Day-to-day duties include troubleshooting devices, advising and supporting clinical users, carrying out administrative tasks, monitoring stock and assisting with external quality assurance schemes. The post is practical and hands-on, suited to carers who enjoy technical problem‑solving and making sure patients get timely, accurate test results across multiple sites.

This fixed-term, full-time position (6 months) is Band 2, £24,465 pro rata. Applicants should have five GCSEs at grade 4 or above (including English, Mathematics and a science) or an equivalent NVQ Level 2, and experience in a science-related or healthcare environment. Strong communication, good keyboard/IT skills, the ability to work on your own and as part of a small team, and a flexible attitude are essential; the role requires a DBS check and sponsorship applications will be considered.
