A Practice Nurse role at Ash Grove Medical Centre, working across two surgery sites in Knottingley (WF11) and Eggborough/Goole (DN14). This permanent, full‑time post is ideal for an NMC‑registered nurse experienced in primary care or community settings who enjoys leading their own clinics and delivering compassionate, patient‑centred care. You’ll run structured long‑term condition reviews (with a strong focus on Asthma and Diabetes, including insulin initiation and titration where trained), interpret spirometry and peak flow, carry out venepuncture, BP and urinalysis, manage wounds and chaperone duties. The role also includes cervical screening (cytology), childhood and adult immunisations, contraception services (pill checks and Depo‑Provera), health education and contributing to QOF and audit activity across a 13,000‑patient list using SystmOne. Salary is dependent on experience and the closing date for applications is 17 October 2025.

You’ll join a supportive, inclusive practice that’s developing into a GP training surgery and prioritises learning and professional development — an excellent fit for women and carers who value hands‑on clinical work combined with teaching and career progression. Required qualifications include current UK NMC registration, recognised cytology and up‑to‑date immunisation training; DBS clearance and UK professional registration are mandatory. The practice offers 25 days’ annual leave (plus bank holidays) with additional service days accruing to a maximum of six weeks, access to the NHS Pension scheme and opportunities for ongoing training in asthma and diabetes management.
