As a Clinical Trials Assistant at University College London Hospitals (UCLH) you will support a growing portfolio of phase I–III cancer trials in the Upper Gastrointestinal and Cholangiocarcinoma Team, based at the Cancer Clinical Trials Unit on 250 Euston Road, NW1. This 12‑month fixed‑term, full‑time post is Band 4 (£33,094–£36,195 pa, inclusive of HCAS) and involves day‑to‑day administration and patient-facing coordination: calling patients, booking appointments and scans, uploading trial scans to portals, preparing lab kits and requests, handling blood and tumour samples, managing site and patient files, archiving closed trials, arranging couriers, and supporting data managers and research nurses. You will work closely with clinical research staff in a supportive environment; full training is provided but you will be expected to organise your own workload, keep accurate electronic and paper records, maintain confidentiality and contribute to audits, meetings and clinic activity when required.

This role suits someone with a science‑based degree (completed or near completion) or solid administrative experience, strong communication and IT skills (Word, Excel, databases), the ability to meet deadlines and work as part of a team. It will particularly appeal to women and carers who value meaningful patient contact alongside structured administrative responsibilities, and who are looking for development within a nationally recognised trust that champions flexible working and staff wellbeing. A DBS check is required and sponsorship inquiries are welcome.
