Internal-only vacancy — progress within UHMB without leaving the Trust, keeping continuity for childcare, school routines and local support networks.
Permanent Band 3 post (£24,937–£26,598 pro rata) — clear NHS pay scale and job security.
Administrative CIU role scheduling diagnostics — predictable office-based duties with lower physical strain, easier to juggle family commitments.
Daily patient contact by phone — use empathy and diplomacy to make a tangible difference to patients’ care.
Based at Royal Lancaster Infirmary (LA1) — ideal for local commuters or those with a car, short travel to work.
Work in a professional CIU team with training and clear routes for internal career development and transferable admin/IT skills.
Use your empathy and administrative strengths to ensure patients access the diagnostic tests they need. This internal-only role at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay places you at the heart of the Cardiac Investigation Unit (CIU) waiting list, managing day-to-day scheduling, speaking with patients by telephone, and liaising with clinical teams and external agencies. You will be the vital communication link between patients, physiologists and Clinical Business Units, working in a fast-paced environment where diplomacy, discretion and excellent customer care are essential.
