Support diagnostic care across Norfolk as a Radiology Department Assistant with Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, based in Norwich (NR4). This Band 2, permanent position rotates across the Radiology Department at NNUH, the Community Diagnostic Centre and Cromer District Hospital, covering MRI, CT, plain film and ultrasound. Day-to-day you will prepare and position patients for imaging, assist with interventional procedures, and use basic anatomy and medical terminology to support safe, compassionate care. Good communication and empathy are essential — you’ll help patients who may be anxious or unwell and carry out some duties independently under the guidance of qualified staff, demonstrating the Trust’s PRIDE values of People focused, Respect, Dedication, Integrity and Excellence.
This role suits caring, practical people — particularly women seeking family-friendly, meaningful work — who want training, variety and flexible hours. The post is full-time with part-time considered (please state preferred hours), includes shift work across a 24‑hour rota with nights and bank holidays, and offers a salary of £24,465 per annum (pro rata).
