As Health Inequalities Lead at NHS Blood and Transplant you will turn scientific insight into practical action that improves access to care and boosts donation in communities that are often overlooked. Working with the Chief Scientific Officers’ Office, you will lead monitoring and reporting, shape policy, and design data-driven tools and workforce approaches that target conditions such as sickle cell anaemia and thalassaemia. This is a visible, national role operating from one of NHSBT’s centres (Bristol, London, Newcastle, Birmingham, Manchester, Barnsley or Liverpool) with hybrid working, Band 7 pay (£47,810–£54,710), a permanent contract and real scope to influence clinical services, research and community engagement.

This role suits someone with masters-level knowledge (or equivalent experience) and proven skills in leadership, data audit, project planning and stakeholder engagement. It will appeal to carers and women seeking purposeful work that fits around life commitments: flexible working where possible, pro rata leave for part-time, an NHS pension and a strong learning culture through the Thrive programme. You’ll be a role model for inclusion, developing tools and recruitment approaches that make services fairer for patients, donors and colleagues.
