We support the NHS with software, triage services, and mobile CT scanning to help detect lung cancer early and save lives.About the RoleWere looking for a compassionate and detail-oriented Lung Cancer Screening Support Officer to join our dedicated team. This role is essential in ensuring patient safety across the lung cancer screening pathway through a process known as failsafe - making sure no patient is missed or left behind.This is more than just an administrative role. Its ideal for someone with a background in a GP surgery, care home, or healthcare setting, who understands the importance of care, empathy, and precision in supporting patients through potentially life-changing journeys.
Main duties of the job
Carry out regular failsafe checks to ensure patient safety across the LCS pathwayMonitor patients from invitation through to follow-up or dischargeCommunicate with clinical teams, GPs, and stakeholdersRespond to patient and stakeholder queries via phone, email, and postMaintain accurate records and follow all failsafe proceduresWhat Were Looking For
Experience
in a healthcare or patient-facing role is desirable (e.g. GP surgery, care home, hospital)A genuine passion for helping others and making a positive differenceStrong organisational skills and attention to detailExcellent communication skills - both written and verbalProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)Understanding of patient confidentiality and data protection (GDPR)Resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure
