An opportunity at The Family Practice in Cotham (BS6) for a Phlebotomist/Health Care Assistant (Clinical) to cover maternity leave, with strong potential for long‑term employment. Perfect for someone wanting to make a foray into General Practice or an experienced phlebotomist keen to broaden clinical skills, you’ll be working in a busy but close‑knit practice serving over 17,500 patients. The surgery is centrally located within easy walking distance of the city centre and Whiteladies Road, well served by bus and train, with on‑site parking, bike parking and pleasant gardens. The role is especially suited to women returning to work, parents or carers seeking flexible, part‑time clinical hours in a supportive environment.

Working 3–4 days a week with the occasional Saturday (plenty of notice given), you will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to support the treatment room and clinical team. Core duties include venepuncture (via ICE), recording routine and emergency ECGs, measuring and recording observations (height, weight, BP, temperature, pulse, blood sugar, oxygen saturations), fitting 24‑hour blood pressure monitors, carrying out annual mental health physical checks and bloods using templates, administering adult flu injections per protocol, acting as a chaperone, assisting in emergency management and providing health promotion information. Training is available and a phlebotomy qualification is desirable but not essential; essential attributes are the ability to write clear, concise notes, a calm manner and enthusiasm to learn. A DBS check is required. To apply, please click the "Apply Now" button alongside this advert — the vacancy is listed on jobsincare.com.
