Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to provide essential administrative support to the medical secretaries and administrative teams within the Neurology Department at The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust.The post holder will be office based and may be required to work across sites, including New Cross Hospital, West Park Hospital, Cannock Chase Hospital and Shawbirch Medical Centre.The post holder will provide comprehensive and efficient clerical and administrative support to the Directorate Secretarial team, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of departmental services across The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust. They will demonstrate strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a busy healthcare environment.
Main duties of the job
1. Putting all correspondence, letters, etc both internal and externally for the secretarial team.2. Open, date stamp and distribute all incoming mail as required.3. Collect medical records from various departments around the Trust as requested by the team.4. Deal with telephone enquiries, ensuring all information and messages received from patients, colleagues and other staff are communicated efficiently and correctly.5. Liaise with a variety of other agencies both internally and external to perform duties required of this post.6. Collate investigation results and correspondence and electronically file in patients notes.7. Chase investigation results as required by secretaries.8. Provide cover for other team members during absences.9. Photocopy and faxing as required by the team.10. Liaise with secretarial team for schedule of day-to-day tasks.11. Comply with all departmental and trust policies and procedures.12. Participate in personal development review to agree personal development plans.13. Be committed to continual self-development and training to meet the requirements and further development of speciality.
