Provide compassionate, hands-on mental health support to older people in their own homes as a Community Support Worker (MHSOP) with Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust, based at Rosanne House, Welwyn Garden City (AL8). This permanent, full-time post (Band 3, £26,240–£27,928 pa pro rata, inclusive of 5% HCAS) works Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm, and usually involves lone working and travelling by car (unless exempt under the Equality Act). You will follow care plans designed by the multi‑disciplinary team, support people with dementia and other mental health needs, promote independence, and step in during community or crisis functions when required. The role suits caring, organised people who want meaningful day‑to‑day contact with service users and the chance to make a real difference in older people’s lives.

You will record observations, contribute to multi‑professional assessments and Care Programme Approach reviews, liaise with day‑centre, home‑care and statutory agencies, and safeguard dignity, choice and cultural needs at all times. Essential requirements include good GCSEs (including English and Maths or equivalent), basic IT skills, knowledge of mental health and social care legislation (for example Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act), confidence to work independently in the community, strong communication and documentation skills, and the ability to manage distressing situations. A DBS check is required. Hertfordshire Partnership is one of only five mental health trusts rated 'Outstanding' by the CQC and promotes values of being welcoming, kind and professional.
