As a Healthcare Assistant with Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust based in Southend (SS0), you will work under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse as part of a multi-disciplinary ward team to deliver high-quality, person-centred care. Core duties include assisting with admissions, personal care, eating and drinking, toileting and disposal of body waste; taking and recording observations such as vital signs, pain scores and wound checks; testing blood sugars and urine specimens; preparing equipment for aseptic procedures; and accurately reporting significant findings. This permanent, part‑time role is Band 3 (Agenda for Change) with a salary of £24,937 per annum (pro rata). GCSEs in English and Maths are essential, desirable skills include cannulation, phlebotomy and HCA competency certificates, and the post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
