As Receptionist - Therapy Support Services at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH), you will provide a professional, patient-focused reception service for the Therapies Outpatient Department based at Colney Lane, Norwich (NR4). This permanent, full-time role (37.5 hours per week) works Monday to Friday across a 7am–7pm rota, with 7.5-hour shifts rostered as early, day or evening and flexibility to cover planned and unplanned leave. Day-to-day you will prioritise and arrange appointments, maintain appointment systems and waiting lists, prepare case notes for clinics, log and prioritise telephone requests for investigations, deal courteously and confidentially with patients and staff in person and by phone, and liaise with secretaries and other departments to ensure tests, notes and referrals are ready for clinics. The role requires someone who can work independently and as part of a team to keep clinics running smoothly and to safeguard patients in the waiting area.

This post suits caring, organised people — particularly those with previous clerical, data-entry or customer-service experience, including experience within the NHS — who have good literacy and numeracy, strong communication skills and the ability to multi-task. It is band 2 with a salary of £24,465 per annum and comes with the full range of NHS benefits plus extras such as flexible working options, staff physiotherapy service, on-site nursery, Park & Ride, pension scheme, staff discounts and confidential counselling. The role is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and is not eligible for a Skilled Worker Visa certificate of sponsorship.
