As a Specialist Health Advisor at Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust (Calderdale Royal Hospital, Halifax HX3), you will deliver specialist stop‑smoking support to inpatients, A&E attendees and women on the maternity pathway. The role combines face‑to‑face and virtual work: you’ll run assessments, provide tailored behavioural support, carry out CO testing, advise on pharmacotherapy including NRT and e‑cigarettes, manage a caseload, arrange robust discharge plans and make onward referrals to community services and pharmacies. Practical duties also include stock management, reporting and partnership work with clinicians and pharmacists to keep hospital sites smoke‑free.
This permanent, full‑time Band 4 role (salary £27,485–£30,162) suits compassionate carers with health or social‑care experience, strong listening skills and GCSE English and Maths (training in stop‑smoking interventions is available if needed). You’ll be part of a large, ‘Good’ CQC‑rated Trust that values One Culture of Care and staff development, offering real, measurable impact — especially supporting pregnant women and vulnerable patients.
