Make a tangible difference behind the scenes at Avery Healthcare’s Beckenham care home as a Maintenance Operative (Bank). You’ll keep the building and grounds safe, comfortable and welcoming by carrying out routine maintenance, basic electrical, plumbing, joinery and building repairs, service checks and minor fixes. The role also includes supporting new residents to arrange their rooms, routine re‑decoration, advising on supplies and ensuring equipment and facilities remain fully functional. This flexible bank position pays £12.25 per hour and is ideal for someone who wants hands‑on work that directly supports residents and care teams in a warm, respectful environment.

To apply you’ll need at least one year’s experience in a general maintenance or handyperson role or a trade qualification, a full driving licence and knowledge of Health & Safety matters such as Moving & Handling, Fire Safety and COSHH. You’ll be adaptable to cover a range of tasks at short notice and participate in an on‑call rota for out‑of‑hours emergencies.
