Health Care Assistant (Band 3) – Outpatients Department at Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust, Queen Mary’s Hospital, Frognal Avenue, Sidcup (DA14). Permanent, part‑time role paying £26,240–£27,928 per annum (Agenda for Change Band 3). This post is ideal for caring, organised people — particularly women and family carers looking for meaningful part‑time work — who have experience or a strong interest in supporting adults and children in a clinical setting. You will communicate sensitively with patients with a wide range of needs (mental health issues, physical impairment, young children, older people, very ill patients, non‑English speakers, deaf or visually impaired), liaise with interpreting services, offer psychological support where patients receive distressing news, work closely with palliative care and other teams, and help manage clinic flow and resolve conflicts while promoting the department positively.

Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust offers an inclusive workplace with training and development — you must be willing to complete the Care Certificate within 26 weeks and have good literacy and numeracy; phlebotomy experience is an advantage. The role requires flexibility in hours, a kind and attentive manner, awareness of adult and child protection, and a satisfactory DBS check. Please note the Trust cannot provide visa sponsorship and applicants must have the right to work in the UK.
