Work as a Healthcare Assistant with Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust at Brookfields Hospital in Cambridge (CB1). You’ll be based on a 36‑bed, nurse‑led inpatient rehabilitation unit delivering short‑term rehab to adults (18+) who’ve experienced a change in physical health. The role is hands‑on: providing personal and direct patient care, carrying out observations and reporting any clinical changes to registered staff, supporting patients and families with compassion and dignity, and working closely with a multidisciplinary team. The post is permanent, offers full‑ and part‑time hours, 24‑hour rotational shifts with flexible working considered, and is paid at Agenda for Change Band 3 (£24,937–£26,598 pro rata). Free on‑site parking is available.
This position suits caring, empathetic people who want purposeful, practical work — particularly women balancing work and family life who value flexibility, team support and visible impact. Essential requirements include GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths, willingness to undertake a DBS check, and the physical ability to carry out patient interventions; training such as the Care Certificate and further development in rehabilitation is encouraged.
