Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Palliative Care Team as a Medical Secretary/Administrator.The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organisation skills, strong typing skills and knowledge of medical terminology to ensure provision of a high quality and efficient administrative/secretarial service to the palliative medicine consultants and the clinical nurse specialist team.You must have good attention to detail together with the ability to prioritise your own workload to meet deadlines. Duties will include dealing with telephone enquiries, letters, email, diaries, chasing deadlines, collation of information/results for reports and typing of clinic letters.You should have previous secretarial

Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide medical transcription and administrative support on attachment to clinical teams; guided by standard operating procedures.Provide administration support to the Palliative Care Team as requiredUse Electronic systems i.e. HIVE, Health RosterManage telephone and e-mail queriesOrganises meetings/events/diaries for others, including agendasetting, taking minutes and follow up actionsBooking clinician appointments and clinics. Proofreading clinic letters to patients, GPs, medical staff and any other required
