Play a vital role in Warrington’s Community Learning Disability Team with Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust, supporting people with learning disabilities to live as independently and inclusively as possible. This permanent, part‑time Band 3 position (salary £24,937–£26,598 pro rata) involves working across community and inpatient settings to implement care plans and therapeutic programmes, act as a nominated worker for individuals with complex needs and challenging behaviour, and support daily living, communication and social skills. You will work under the direction of qualified practitioners, contribute to records and evaluations, help people access wider health services, and respond appropriately to urgent situations. An NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent), at least 12 months’ experience of working with people with learning disabilities, and a willingness to work with complex presentations are essential; the role requires a DBS check and offers hands‑on, meaningful practice at the heart of Transforming Care priorities.

This role will suit compassionate, resilient carers — particularly women seeking rewarding, flexible work that combines practical support with personal development. Mersey Care emphasises high professional standards, reflective supervision and ongoing training, and flexible working requests will be considered to help fit the job around home life. You’ll be part of a specialist team, contributing to safer discharges and community inclusion while building skills in positive behaviour support and therapeutic group work.
