Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Consultant in Cellular Pathology to join an established consultant pathology team based at Milton Keynes (MK6 5LD). This permanent post is offered as 10 programmed activities (7.5 DCC / up to 2.5 SPA, with 1 PA core SPA) and can be tailored for part‑time or job‑share applicants. The role covers histopathology and non‑gynaecological cytology services, including consultant cut‑up, diagnostic reporting, MDT preparation and attendance, internal peer review, external referrals and participation in NHS autopsy work on a shared rota. There are strong teaching and research opportunities through our University of Buckingham partnership and the Oxford trainee rotation, plus access to a consultant development programme and non‑core SPA for education, leadership or quality improvement.

Applicants must hold FRCPath (or equivalent) and full/specialist GMC registration with a licence to practise (or be eligible within six months), and UK CCT holders or those with evidence of CCT equivalence are welcome. The Trust values broad experience in histopathology and cytopathology (including fine needle aspirates); suitable senior trainees and experienced consultants will find a supportive, collegiate environment with family‑friendly benefits — flexible working, on‑site nursery, free parking and refreshments, discounted gym, lease car scheme, generous leave and pension, and a comprehensive staff health and wellbeing programme.
