Step into a specialist clinical role at University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust as a Clinical Exercise Physiologist, based at University Hospital Southampton (SO16 6YD). This permanent Band 5 post (salary £31,049–£37,796 a year, pro rata where applicable) offers full‑ or part‑time working. You will organise and deliver cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET), read and interpret exercise ECGs, support operational running of the CPET lab and help deliver exercise prehabilitation for patients facing major planned surgery across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. The role suits candidates with a BSc in physiological sciences, at least 1–2 years’ clinical CPET experience, applied exercise prescription skills and ideally accreditation with a recognised body (eg BASES/ACSM). The clinic involves active clinical work, appropriate PPE and is subject to DBS checks; skilled worker sponsorship applications are welcome and will be considered.
