Play a pivotal clinical and leadership role as a Band 7 Specialist Haematology Biomedical Scientist at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, based at Heartlands Hospital, Birmingham B9 5SS. This permanent, full‑time post (Band 7, £47,810–£54,710) leads flow cytometry and molecular haematology services, supports HPLC haemoglobinopathy/HbA1c work and helps manage a busy, ISO 15189/HCPC/IBMS accredited laboratory that delivers 24/7 diagnostic care. You’ll manage day‑to‑day laboratory operations, train and appraise staff, deputise for operational managers when needed, and take part in an on‑call Duty Manager rota — all while working within a supportive team committed to quality, safety and continuous improvement.

This opportunity is for an HCPC‑registered Biomedical Scientist with Level 7 study (MSc, HSD or equivalent) and post‑registration specialist training, plus practical UK experience at Band 6 or above in haematology.
