Make a real difference to patient care at The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust as a registered Pharmacy Technician specialising in Medicines Optimisation. Working primarily on the wards within a multidisciplinary team, you’ll use Meditech EPMA, JAC, a prescription tracking system and a dispensing robot to make sure patients receive the right medicines at the right time. Core duties include medicines reconciliation, ordering and dispensing at ward and pharmacy level, accuracy checking, counselling patients, educating nursing staff about medicines and supporting discharge planning — plus you’ll be involved in imminent service developments and improvements across the pharmacy.
This permanent, full‑time (flexible) Band 4 post pays £27,485–£30,162 and suits a GPhC‑registered Pharmacy Technician actively completing CPD with NVQ3/BTEC or equivalent and experience of JAC, good keyboard skills, manual dexterity and the ability to handle cytotoxic/hazardous medicines. An enhanced DBS and current UK professional registration are required. Rotherham is a combined acute and community Trust proud of its caring culture, staff recognition and commitment to development — we encourage further qualifications and career progression.
