Work as a Health Care Assistant with Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust on Victoria Ward at Farnham Road Hospital, Guildford (GU2), supporting older people in acute mental health crisis and those with learning disability needs on a 20‑bed ward. This permanent Band 2 role (full‑ or part‑time) pays £25,768 pa inclusive of 5% fringe (pro rata) and offers flexible shift patterns — short or long days and nights — designed to fit around family and caring responsibilities. The post is ideal for women carers and people taking a step into healthcare: a completed Care Certificate and IT Skills Level 1 are essential, an NVQ Level 2 and previous paid or unpaid caring experience are desirable, and a DBS check is required. Please note this role cannot offer sponsorship.
You will deliver hands‑on, person‑centred care as part of a multidisciplinary team: observing, reporting and recording changes in physical and mental health, supporting daily living activities, following Mental Health Act principles, facilitating social and therapeutic engagement, escorting patients as directed and contributing to assessment, planning and evaluation of care.
