Healthcare & Therapy Assistant – REACT with East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust, based in Ipswich (IP1). Work in an award-winning, community‑based Reactive Emergency Assessment Community Team (REACT) that assesses and supports people in short‑term crisis to remain safely at home and avoid emergency admission. You will deliver reablement-focused one‑to‑one care in patients’ homes, carrying out personal care and daily living support, completing delegated clinical tasks across Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and other disciplines, and contributing to end‑of‑life and long‑term condition care. The service is multi‑agency and highly collaborative, with nurses, therapists, doctors, social workers and voluntary partners. The role covers Ipswich and east Suffolk from a central base, requires a valid UK driving licence and ability to travel using your own or a team pool car, and is subject to a DBS check. The REACT rota provides 24‑hour cover so shifts include early, late, nights, weekends and bank holidays. A Care Certificate and proven care experience are essential; NVQ/QCF level 3 (or willingness to undertake study) is required.

This permanent post (Band 3, pay range £24,937–£26,598 pro rata) is offered full‑time or part‑time and comes with a generous NHS pension, unsocial hours payments where applicable, 27 days’ annual leave on commencement (pro rata), and access to training, development and staff wellbeing support. The role will suit experienced carers — particularly women looking for meaningful, flexible work — who value team support, professional development and the chance to build practical therapy skills in a community setting.
