As a Senior Support Worker with Wiltshire Council based in Salisbury (SP1), you will lead small teams delivering short- to mid-term, person-centred home support for people recently discharged from hospital or needing rapid response care. This permanent, part‑time role (16 hours per week) pays £16.35–£17.47 per hour and involves supervising and mentoring Support Workers, carrying out and maintaining CQC‑compliant support and medication records, completing risk and medication assessments, attending first visits, liaising with health partners and care settings, and making timely decisions during out‑of‑hours cover. You will be expected to champion safeguarding, manage referrals and case records confidentially, support safe transfers of care, and ensure the service remains inspection ready — a role that blends hands‑on care with leadership responsibility. A Disclosure and Barring Service check is required; NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience is desirable and Wiltshire supports staff development, including NVQ apprenticeships.

This vacancy will particularly suit experienced carers — and women seeking meaningful, flexible leadership work in their local community — who value supportive colleagues and clear routes for progression.
