Part-time Maternity Cover Administrator required at Whitby Group Practice (Spring Vale Medical Centre, Whitby YO21) for a fixed-term of one year. This 16‑hour role (two days a week, Thursday and Friday) pays £12.21 an hour and typically starts at 08:00 with some flexibility to cover until 18:15 when needed. You will deliver essential administrative support to a busy GP practice serving nearly 13,500 patients, handling day-to-day tasks such as filing, photocopying and scanning, opening and distributing post, reviewing incoming emails, creating invoices for reports, producing weekly procedure and referral reports, registering new and temporary patients (and deductions), processing death certificates, emailing radiology requests, handling district nurse queries, booking annual reviews and managing online access, plus other delegated duties. Training is provided and the role requires discretion and adherence to confidentiality and Health & Safety policies; a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be required.

This position suits reliable, organised people — particularly women and carers seeking predictable, part‑time hours that fit around family or caring responsibilities. You’ll need good keyboard and Office skills (Word and Outlook), GCSE‑level English, a clear, polite telephone manner and the ability to work both independently and as part of a friendly, multi‑skilled team.
