Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an existing band 4 orband 2/3 health professional wanting to join the Manual Handling AdvisoryService (MHAS) in a Manual Handling Practitioner capacity (band 4). The MHAS team provides a comprehensiveservice for the organisation including a significant training program for allclinical staff from mandatory training through to a more specialisedfacilitator training.The teams main focus is to eliminate avoidable manualhandling incidents through teaching, extensive audit programmes and adviseclinical areas and individuals following manual handling incidents.In addition to this the team providesprofessional advice to clinical areas and individuals with the aim to preventor reduce the impact of MSK injuries to staff and patients. The team alsoadvices on the purchase of manual handling equipment and supports departmentswith complex risk assessments.

Main duties of the job
Theteam plays a significant role in patient safety and is involved in proactivelymanaging risk in relation to manual handling and reducing patient and staffinjuries. The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of manualhandling training across the organisation and will assist with the delivery ofstrategies to ensure departments are completing appropriate and safe moving andhandling. As part of a small team respond to department queries relating tomoving and handling.
