Job summary
We now have vacancies for porters to join our friendly and professional facilities team. Our porters play a vital role in the smooth running of the hospital by transporting notes, specimens, equipment, x-rays, beds and patients throughout the hospital seven days a week 24hrs a day.There will also be some bank positions available.We are able to offer the following:Shift Porters (4 on, 4 off, Days and Nights)Day Porters (Mon- Fri)Part time days weekdaysVariety of temporary shifts on our in house bankWe can supply full training but you must:Have a friendly personality and be able to communicate wellBe physically fitBe flexible and willing to learnGood written and spoken EnglishYou will undertake a range of general portering duties on the site.Please note that this advert may close early if we receive a high number of applications.
Main duties of the job
To complete all appropriate departmental records and paperwork as required. Typically this will involve work sheets, rotas, mortuary process, vehicle log, incident reports.To work safely at all times in line with H&S legislation. Reporting any issues to Chargehand.To communicate effectively via a variety of means with all levels of staff, patients and visitors. This may involve giving directions, explanations and making arrangements for movement of goods and services. Face to face contact should be managed professionally.
