As an OT Technician with NHS Professionals at SLaM’s River House in Beckenham, you’ll deliver recovery‑focused, person‑centred occupational therapy under the supervision of a qualified OT. You’ll run individual and group therapeutic activities on the wards and in the Recovery Hub, contribute to occupational care plans and discharge planning, manage a small caseload and support risk management (with appropriate Seni Lewis training for restrictive interventions). The role requires maintaining a safe clinical environment and accurate records, working closely with service users, families, carers and the multidisciplinary team, and may include occasional evenings and weekends. This is a Band 4 bank post (full‑time, 3 months) paying £15.60 per hour, with the flexibility and benefits of NHS Professionals such as weekly pay, priority shifts and access to in‑house training.
This opportunity is ideal for caring, hands‑on people — particularly women seeking purposeful, supportive work — who hold GCSEs in Maths and English and a Health & Social Care NVQ Level 2/Care Certificate (or equivalent) and have experience with mental health and complex needs. Creative interests (art, music, drama), forensic experience or a background in psychology are welcomed, and you’ll have chances to support student training, take part in service development and build your skills through supervision and the NHSP academy. River House offers a warm team culture, real scope for development and meaningful day‑to‑day impact.
