Step into a stimulating psychological therapy role with Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust at Portland (DT5 1EQ), working within the Dorset prisons cluster as a Clinical/Forensic/Counselling Psychologist or Psychological Therapist. This permanent, part‑time Band 7 post offers a supported preceptorship to Band 8a and a pro‑rata salary of £47,810–£62,682. You’ll join a nationally respected, long‑established Psychological Therapies department that values trauma‑informed practice and meaningful resettlement work — a chance to do high‑impact clinical work while being part of a warm, dynamic team that supports staff wellbeing and career growth.
You will manage a clinical caseload, deliver specialist assessments, formulations and interventions, and provide supervision to assistant psychologists, students and trainees. The post includes funded formal training (EMDR, DBT or MBT) within the first two years, specialist supervision, supervision‑skills training and planned development towards Band 8a. Please note the role requires National Security Vetting and a DBS check because of the prison setting, and applicants must hold current UK professional registration. If this fits your skills and life commitments, especially if you’re balancing caring responsibilities, click the "Apply Now" button shown with this advert to apply — you can also find this vacancy on jobsincare.com for easy mobile browsing.
