Based at North Bristol NHS Trust (Southmead Hospital, Bristol BS10 5NB), this Clinical / Counselling / Health Psychologist role delivers specialist psychological care for adults living with and beyond cancer, focusing on more complex presentations. You will carry out individual assessments for inpatients and outpatients, deliver tailored 1:1 and group interventions to support treatment decision‑making, long‑term adjustment, trauma, fatigue and fear of recurrence, and offer clinical supervision and training to colleagues and other health professionals. The post works closely within a multi‑disciplinary team — including specialist nurses, physiotherapists and dietitians — and embraces co‑production with former service users, contribution to service development, audit and research, and teaching placements linked to the regional doctoral training programme and local universities.

This fixed‑term, full‑time Band 7 post (8 months) is suited to practitioners with a doctorate or equivalent in clinical, counselling or health psychology and experience in clinical health settings; experience of supervision and cancer services is desirable. The Trust values diversity, supports professional development, and offers opportunities to supervise trainees and participate in collaborative research — making it a strong fit for women and carers seeking meaningful clinical work that combines therapy, teaching and service leadership. The role requires UK professional registration and is subject to a DBS check; applicants needing Skilled Worker sponsorship are welcome.
