Key Requirements:

  • Minimum 6 months of healthcare experience in the UK (essential).
  • SSSC Pin: Must be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
  • PMVA or MAPA Training: Experience with Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression (PMVA) or Management of Actual or Potential Aggression (MAPA) training or willingness to undergo the training is essential.
  • Medication Administration: Fully trained and competent in administering medication.
  • PVG Scheme: Must hold a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) check.
  • Physical Fitness: Must be fit and healthy enough to walk 2-6 miles with service users as part of support activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide compassionate care and support to individuals with varying needs.
  • Assist with personal care tasks such as dressing, bathing, and grooming.
  • Administer medication in line with care plans and legal requirements.
  • Promote independence and encourage participation in day-to-day activities.
  • Accompany service users on walks, which may range from 2 to 6 miles, and support them in outdoor activities.
  • Support individuals in managing challenging behaviours through de-escalation techniques (PMVA or MAPA).
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care provided.
  • Work closely with healthcare professionals and families to ensure the best possible care for service users.
  • Adhere to safeguarding and health & safety policies at all times.
