Job description
Support older people with mental health and cognitive challenges to live meaningful, fulfilling lives as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in Slough (part‑time, 17 hours/week). You will work alongside qualified Occupational Therapists to deliver therapeutic interventions and group programmes, including the Living Well Programme for older people’s mental health, carry out OT assessments, help plan and evaluate evidence‑based care, and put individualised treatment plans into practice. The role involves building therapeutic relationships with patients and carers using empathy and motivational interviewing, facilitating groups, accompanying staff on home visits when needed, and contributing to a compassionate multidisciplinary team. A current driving licence and use of a car, experience in a mental health setting, ability to facilitate groups and flexibility to support the team are essential; the post is subject to a DBS check.
