Kent and Medway Mental Health NHS Trust rYidtShvm
Job description
Play a vital role in Kent and Medway’s first NHS Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) for women at Littlebrook Hospital, Dartford (DA2). As a Peer Support Worker you will draw on your lived experience of recovery to build trusting relationships, support group programmes, help service users set realistic goals, and encourage independence. The role combines direct support with administrative tasks, liaising with community services and promoting mental health awareness. Working here is emotionally demanding but highly rewarding — you’ll be part of a skilled, multidisciplinary team and receive a comprehensive induction and bespoke training to prepare you for the clinical challenges involved.
This permanent, part‑time Band 3 role (Agenda for Change) offers £26,240–£27,928 per annum inclusive of a 5% High Cost Area supplement, paid pro rata. The post is subject to a DBS check and applicants must have at least 12 months without using mental health services prior to applying; lived experience of mental health problems and experience of using services are essential. The planned start date is March 2026 to allow induction and training ahead of the first patient’s arrival in April 2026. If you are a compassionate woman or carer with recovery experience who wants a hands‑on role supporting other women back into their communities, click the "Apply Now" button alongside this description to apply — this vacancy is listed on jobsincare.com.
