Job description
Use your lived experience of mental distress or of caring for someone to make a real difference in the Forensic Outreach and Liaison Service (FOLS) in Worthing. As a Peer Support Worker with Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust you will work alongside a multidisciplinary team to provide one-to-one and group peer support, help service users and their families meet recovery goals and practical needs (housing, employment, benefits, education and leisure), and encourage participation and co‑production. This role values real-life insight: you will act as a positive role model, share parts of your recovery story where appropriate, and support people to regain control, responsibility and hope.
This is a permanent Band 3 role (full‑time; part‑time considered pro rata) paying £24,937–£26,598 pa pro rata, based at Chanctonbury Building, Swandean or The Firs, Hellingly in Worthing (BN13). The Trust provides full training, one-to-one peer supervision, a supportive county-wide peer network and ongoing development — ideal for those returning to work or balancing caring responsibilities. The post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check; Sussex Partnership is CQC‑rated 'good' overall and 'outstanding' for caring. If you’re ready to turn your lived experience into meaningful paid work supporting others, click the "Apply Now" button alongside this advert — you can also view similar roles on jobsincare.com.
