PERMANENT
Job description
Support the safe and timely delivery of medicines across Northumbria Healthcare by working within a modern pharmacy and at ward level at North Tyneside General Hospital (North Shields, NE29). As a Pharmacy Assistant you will carry out mainly store-based duties — receiving orders from wholesalers, assembling ward orders, making regular deliveries and providing the ward top-up service — and the role includes lifting and moving boxes of fluids around the department and hospital. This permanent Band 2 post (salary £24,465 pro rata) offers full‑time, part‑time and flexible working and sits within a trust that delivers acute and community services across the region, including a specialist emergency care hospital and extensive patient programmes.
This role is ideal for practical, organised people — particularly women and those with caring experience or returning to work — who want hands-on work that directly supports patient care. Applicants need GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics and will be supported to complete NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services; basic IT skills to ECDL standard are desirable. On-the-job training, close teamwork with clinical colleagues and a DBS check are part of the post. Find this vacancy on jobsincare.com and click the "Apply Now" button alongside this advert to apply.
