Support safe, efficient prescribing at The Fishponds Family Practice in Fishponds, Bristol BS16 3TD as a Prescription Clerk. In this hands-on administrative role you will process repeat prescriptions daily via online systems and email, prioritise urgent requests, check authorisations and arrange blood tests and medication reviews to keep patient records and QOF targets up to date. You’ll handle prescription queries from GPs, nurses, pharmacists and care homes, adjust medication quantities under the guidance of the Pharmacy Technician and work closely with the care coordinator team to maintain a responsive, safe service. The role requires GCSEs in English and Maths (C/4), confidence with Microsoft Office, a short maths assessment at interview, and a Disclosure and Barring Service check; familiarity with EMIS is desirable.

It’s ideal for organised, compassionate carers — including returners and those balancing family responsibilities — who value steady pay, supportive colleagues and opportunities to develop practical prescribing knowledge under pharmacy mentorship.
