Care for older people on Syringa Ward at Whipps Cross University Hospital in London (E11) as a Senior Healthcare Support Worker with Barts Health NHS Trust. This permanent, full‑time role on a 26‑bed Care of the Elderly ward involves hands‑on, delegated clinical duties — taking observations and vital signs, assisting with personal care, mobility, nutrition and hydration, basic wound care and tasks such as BP, ECG recording and MRSA screening. You’ll support patients with acute, high‑dependency needs including dementia, delirium and challenging behaviours, working closely with the ward team under the ward manager’s supervision. The post is open to experienced HCAs and those new to care: if you’re starting out you’ll be placed at Band 2 while completing Band 3 competencies, with progression to Band 3 within six months on successful completion; the advertised pay range is £29,651–£31,312 pa (pro rata where applicable). Shift flexibility is required, including nights and weekends.
