Support surgical care as a Senior Theatre Support Worker (Band 3) at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust, based at Tunbridge Wells (Pembury Hospital). You’ll deliver hands‑on perioperative care across an 11‑theatre hot site covering specialities such as ENT, gynaecology, upper and lower GI, bariatrics, paediatric orthopaedics, ophthalmics, CEPOD, trauma and obstetrics. Typical duties include bringing patients to theatre, checking documentation, applying monitoring in the anaesthetic room, assisting the scrub team, cleaning and restocking between cases, and porter duties moving patients on beds and trolleys. As a senior you’ll be given an area of responsibility and play a central part in training and supervising new colleagues. The role requires an Enhanced DBS and successful completion of corporate and clinical induction; the rota includes days, long days, weekends and nights.

This permanent, full‑time post is Band 3 with a salary of £24,937–£26,598 pro rata and is aimed at experienced theatre support staff (minimum c.18 months’ theatre experience; two years preferred) with NVQ Level 3 or a Care Certificate. If you don’t yet hold a Care Certificate or NVQ3 you can start at Band 2 and the Trust will support on-the-job training to complete the Care Certificate during probation and progress to Band 3.
