Support Worker / Personal Care Assistant (Ref: BRR8599) in Littlehampton to support a lively 6‑year‑old boy with a rare Sox4 genetic condition and global developmental delay. This part‑time permanent role pays £12.21 per hour and is on‑site only: term‑time hours are 3 per week after school (flexible weekdays between 15:30–16:30) with 6 hours per week during school holidays. You’ll provide one‑to‑one companionship and supervision at home and out and about — taking him to the park, supporting play (bike, scooter, football, diggers and cars are favourites) and helping keep him safe and comfortable. The family are non‑smoking and want a patient, energetic PA who enjoys working with children and can follow instructions while using their own initiative.

This role will suit experienced carers, particularly women who’ve worked with disabled children or those with speech delay, and anyone who values reliability, confidentiality and good timekeeping. Candidates must have the right to work in the UK and be willing to undertake an Enhanced DBS check; the role may be offered employed (with holiday pay and a contract) or self‑employed depending on agreement. Independent Lives is advertising on behalf of the family and is a Disability Confident employer, so applicants who meet the criteria will be considered fairly.
