Job description
Help six residents at Croftlands, a small Bridgwater home, to enjoy active, meaningful lives. As a Support Worker you’ll provide positive behaviour support and practical companionship—helping with outings to the local leisure complex, pubs, beaches and forest walks—and there can be occasional driving of the house vehicle or your own car (drivers not essential). This on-site, permanent role is available full time or part time, pays £13.13 per hour and suits reliable, patient carers who value good timekeeping, listening skills and working within a small, friendly team. There’s no uniform, and the day-to-day focus is on supporting people to make choices and take part in things they enjoy.
Discovery offers practical benefits that make caring work sustainable and progressive: 30 days’ annual leave pro rata (including bank holidays); a supported 'Learn to Drive' scheme (up to 30 lessons and tests paid); a 24-hour Employee Assistance Programme covering family members; long service awards, life assurance and pension; plus thorough induction and ongoing training including the Care Certificate and Diploma in Health & Social Care.
