Job description
Support Worker role based in Ware, Hertfordshire with Freedom Care (Herts) — a small, family-run agency founded from lived experience of caring. This permanent, part‑time position (variable hours between 07:00 and 21:00) pays £13.50–£20.25 per hour and is on-site only. You’ll be providing hands‑on, person‑centred care for people with dementia, end‑of‑life and palliative needs, physical disabilities and specialist requirements such as PEG feeding, colostomy or catheter care. Day‑to‑day duties include personal care, administering oral medication, meal prep, continence support, light housework, companionship, respite for family carers and supporting clients into the community for appointments, clubs or social outings. This is a community‑based role so a full UK driving licence and access to a car are required; you will also have a duty of care to raise and report any concerns so clients get the right support.
This opportunity is well suited to patient, empathetic people who enjoy one‑to‑one relationships and community activity — qualities that often resonate with women carers. Freedom Care offers practical support and rewards: competitive pay with separate mileage and travel time, an Employee Assistance Programme, Bupa Health cashback level 1 after three months, full training, ongoing support and help to gain further qualifications. The agency operates 365 days a year and values flexibility around the hours you can offer; through genuine reviews it sits in the Top 20 care providers for the East of England. If this sounds like the kind of caring, community‑centred role you’re looking for, please click the "Apply Now" button to apply — the vacancy is also listed on jobsincare.com. Closing date: 06 December 2025 (Job ref: HCPA004506).
