As Waiting List and Appointments Coordinator at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (North Tyneside General Hospital, North Shields NE29), you will manage waiting lists and patient bookings for the Lung Cancer Screening Programme, a national initiative identifying people aged 55–74 at increased risk to improve early detection and treatment. You’ll act as the first point of contact for the programme team, coordinate appointments and enquiries across the Trust, triage queries with initiative to keep the service running smoothly and support delivery of NHS waiting‑time targets including screening scheduling, cancer waits and diagnostics. The role involves Trust‑wide working and hands‑on administration across the screening pathway.

This permanent, part‑time Band 3 post (Agenda for Change) offers flexible hours and a salary of £24,937–£26,598 pro rata, making it well suited to organised administrators, returners and carers — particularly women seeking meaningful, flexible work that fits around caring responsibilities. You’ll need NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent), GCSE English (grade C/Level 4 or equivalent) and confidence with Microsoft Office; experience of NHS admin, PAS or electronic appointment systems is desirable. Training on examination protocols and booking processes will be provided and the role requires a DBS check. To apply, click the "Apply Now" button and complete your application via jobsincare.com.
