As an Advanced Alcohol Nurse Specialist based at Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital in Cramlington (NE23 6NZ), you will assess and deliver advanced nursing care for people with alcohol‑related problems, run nurse‑led clinics and manage your own caseload with clinical oversight from GI consultants. The role includes personalised interventions and brief counselling, telephone follow‑up, promoting screening and referrals across wards and GP services, working closely with local drug and community providers, and contributing to research and clinical audits to reduce attendances and readmissions. This is a permanent Band 7 post (salary £47,810–£54,710 per annum) with full‑time hours and flexible working options.
This post suits an experienced Band 6 nurse with gastroenterology or alcohol‑care experience, first‑level registration, degree and master’s level experience (or equivalent), PP126/127 competence and registered mentor status; additional leadership and prescribing training is welcomed or supported.
